THINK OVER
Film starts with flashes of shaky memories of various incidents in B&W (or Sepia tone). Camera is shaky throughout the scene. Poster of a person’s ‘Lost Advertisement’, ‘Lost Cell phone Notification’ in notice board, ‘100 lost lives (or kinda news) in news paper or news channel’ etc… (To be discussed) are shown in sequence in a hazy manner. Scene fades out.
Film tone changes to colour. A room in semi yellow tone is shown. Camera moves slowly towards a man sitting in a chair, from behind. He is Mr. X, our Lead character. He opens a diary; it has his name in the very first page. He turns several pages and all of them contains more or less similar kinda time table in it. He turns to page containing that particular day’s date and he starts writing. The intention of this scene is to show that he is writing Diary (in a personal way) after a very long time and he is disturbed because of some reason unknown. He is disturbed with the thought that he has lost something; but he couldn’t figure out what it is. He asks himself whether he could find ‘what he has lost?’ and the scene fades out. Camera is made to move slowly throughout the scene showing alternative shots of the diary and Mr. X from behind, circling around him (without showing is face). The final shot ends in the diary, where Mr. X ends his writing with a question mark. That question mark is zoomed in and the scene fades.
Camera in First person view, showing the world as Mr. X would see it. The scene starts with zooming in of camera showing a city in its early hours. A dull & pale look should be maintained throughout this scene. This scene forms our base scene linking all other parts with it. Various persons are shown walking in the streets. Mr. X asks himself in a mild tone ‘what he has lost?’, the tone and loudness changes into an aggressive way and Mr. X starts asking that question to passer-by’s. Some of them are stunned and some just laughs at him. Mr. X’s head starts spinning (so do the camera) and comes to rest in a frame showing a child seated in a roadside bench. Camera zooms in that child and fades in into a B&W image of a boy* of similar image and resumes to current scene after fading out. That child is playing with his watch without noticing Mr. X moving towards it (shown in first person view). The child lifts his head and the scene fades out.
Mr. X is seated next to that child and he is conversing with him. (Camera moves around Mr. X when he talks. When the child is talking, camera will show a part of Mr. X’s shoulder and the child face and it will be moving slowly upwards. He says that he has lost a thing and he is searching for it. He asks the child about things that he has lost. The child listing out loses, like a lost pebble, lost pencil and goes on with its list. Suddenly he stops and starts thinking with his eyes closed. Camera zooms in the chills face. The child opens his eyes and says that he has lost a tooth a week ago in a pitiful way. Mr. X’s shoulders are shaking (to show he is laughing). Camera angle changes again to first person view and Mr. X asks the child to have some chocolates and he gives him a 100 Rupee note. The child refuses to take money and asks Mr. X to give him some chocolates the next time they meet. The child stars running saying that his school bus has come…
The child running away is shown for a minute and the camera drops showing the ground (Mr. X’s heads down). He giggles and says that he is a stupid to think about his childhood. After some seconds camera lifts and starts moving (Mr. X walking away) and suddenly stops and turns back to the place where Mr. X and that child were sitting. Camera zoomed in to that spot and fades in to that B&W image of that boy* shown earlier. That boy in that frame starts running. He is shown playing with a man (his face not shown)… Various stages of a boy and his Father are shown (camera shaky) and scenes fade out to current scene. Mr. X says to that empty bench he is facing ‘hey! That might be… my father… yeah my father… But…’. Scene fades in to B&W mode.
Mr. X is shown from behind talking to someone in telephone. As the camera zooms in gradually from a large distance, the conversation becomes audible. Mr. X is talking in a monotonous tone to his father. He is so feeble and is at the verge of crying. The scene is shown in various angles. Mr. X says that he is home sick and says that he misses him and mamma a lot. His father starts speaking in a steady voice. He says that wherever Mr. X goes, the love and wishes of his and mamma’s would fill the life of Mr. X. (To be discussed, Conversation should be short and sentimental). Scene ends when Mr. X is convinced. His father says that he’ll be with his son forever, wherever he might be. Camera zooms out with increased frame rate and fades out into current scene i.e. Mr. X staring at the bench in an explosive way. Scene freezes for a couple of seconds. Mr. X says ‘I love you dad… forever’ and starts walking in the direction he was about to go. He starts talking to passer-by’s again; says that he has been lucky throughout his life. He also says that he studied in the best of schools and got seat in one of the most prestigious university. He says that he even work for a MNC which is a dream for many… He assures himself that he has lost nothing and when he is about to be convinced by himself he sees 3 people passing him. All those above dialogues are spoken to various persons crossing him. He is about to say that he has lost nothing but stops abruptly, seeing those 3 persons. Camera freezes on the frame showing those 3 persons.
2 boys and a girl are seen. With the intimacy level, the observer should be able to say that one boy among the 2 is the boy friend of that girl and the other boy is just a friend of both. Mr. X starts speaking to them. He says’ yeah! Friends… right…?’ and one of the boy nods his head. Mr. X turns his finger towards the girl and says that ‘and this should… this should be’ and giggles turning his finger towards her boy friend. That boy starts shouting at Mr. X and the gal tries to pacify him. The other boy looks bemused. Mr. X says ‘so… so that’s your… your gal. Right…’ and drops his head (so do the camera) and suddenly lifts his head and faces those 3 persons and starts shouting ‘your gal… yeah… I too had my gal… my friend… MY WORLD’ the last word echoes and the scene fades out to B&W image of 3 persons. Camera angles are to be discussed.
Many scenes with 2 guys & a gal are shown. The intimacy of Mr. X and that gal is shown in various scenes. The faces of the 3 persons are not shown. The gal is shown running in a road in daylight and she gets hit by a car. She fell on the ground and darkness fills the scene. The accident scene is shown in a confused manner.
Scene flashes in out of darkness showing the chalk piece mark of the accident area in moon light. The place of the accident area is zoomed out gradually showing the strains of blood and stops at a distance. The camera should move away from the accident spot (low angle) where Mr. X is shown sitting near the chalk piece mark bounded area. The camera zooms out further showing the legs of a person and it is fixed there. That person walks towards Mr. X. He pats on Mr. X’s shoulders gently and sits next to him staring at the accident site.
Camera moves towards those two slowly, as they start speaking. After a brief silence the person (who was shown earlier with Mr. X and his girl friend) says (after clearing his throat many times) ‘It’s… It’s all over. I know how painful it is to lose…. Lose your first love…. But’. Mr. X interrupts saying ‘I didn’t lose my love… It’s just my gal… just the physical presence of her … She lives… lives as a beautiful memory… she has filled my life with… with her smile... the smell of her hair… with all her love…’. He keeps his hand over the accident spot with blood strains and says ‘How would I lose you… whatever I did… whatever I do… It’s all for you… love you forever…’. Saying so, his tears falls on the chalk piece mark. The tear on the chalk piece mark is zoomed in… Mr. X‘s hand wipes of that chalk piece mark and the scene get wiped off to the current scene.
Scene starts showing the tear drops on ground. Mr. X says ’She is with me always… My gal’ and he lift his head seeing some other person and not those 3 persons. He is watching Mr. X keenly. Mr. X says ‘well… so I’ve lost nothing. Right?’. The person starts moving away from Mr. X out of fear. Mr. X shouts at him ‘c’mon man… answers me… c’mon”. The person starts running away. Camera is held at a position showing that person running away i.e. walking fast. He has his bag on his shoulder in a peculiar way. Camera zooms in & out of the bag. Mr. X starts yelling ‘Hey… Hey wait… Wait…I remember now… I remember you… you are…’. The scene fades out to B&W.
Various scenes shown before (from that Mr. X’s Gal friend’s part) are shown again in a different angle such that one of the boy’s (should be taken so that the observer thinks that it is Mr. X’s friend) face is shown in all the shots. (To Be Discussed) Scene fades out to current scene… Mr. X walks away calmly with his heads down saying ‘I never knew I lost you… all my fault’ repeatedly (Camera from behind). Scene flashes out to white.
Mr. X is shown kicking disgustingly the side walls of a bridge. Camera in low angle moving closer to his legs and stops with a voice saying ‘Have you found it’. Mr. X’s legs turn showing the front side of his legs (thigh height) towards the camera. Camera moves slowly half a foot to show a part of a child’s back. The child (shown talking to Mr. X previously) steps near to Mr. X and repeats ‘Have you found it?’
Camera angle changes showing Mr. X from behind, sitting on his knees and the child’s front. Mr. X says ‘yes dear I’ve found what I’ve lost… but I don’t know whether I’ll get back…. Back…hmmm… what about a chocolate…your lost tooth can’t live alone’ and he lifts up holding the child’s arm in his.
They start walking towards the camera. Camera slowly lifted to show Mr. X’s face. The face of the person who Mr. X saw in his last flash back is his own face. Camera stays showing his distressed face for some seconds. Suddenly Mr. X starts laughing seeing something. Camera moves in that direction showing hundreds of people rushing in the streets. Moves slowly among the first paced people and lifts up gradually to show the evening sun and freezes there.
