"Misconceptions-My version"

If you think that the topic is so familiar, then that isn’t a misconception. I was forced to look back into my life by vatsan’s article on his misconceptions. It requires courage to break your illusionary image which you hold now and reveal the ‘part of stupidity’ in you. I carefully reveal the part of stupidity from my past alone :-)

So here I go to do two most unlikely things; write an article in English, & that too about my childhood beliefs (misconceptions)

Content Warning: The following article may contain loose sentences, worst vocabulary and even grammatical mistakes.

Stomach - A potential Farm land:

Whenever I swallow the seed of a fruit (not that of mango of course), I would have a shake in my shoes hoping that it will grow inside me and in the future the branches would pop out through my ears, mouth, nose..

I remember myself imagining before mirror how I would look after the tree has popped out.

Aliens under my ground:

I have spent hours lying down on earth, observing the sounds I hear on the floor. I fantasized that those were the sounds made by the aliens from the alien world beneath earth’s surface.

Coal maker:

Whenever I find a tree bark, I would bury it under some place and mark the location in my note. After every month or two i go to that place and unearth the tree bark to check whether it is transforming into a piece of coal.

(i left that hobby, after I noticed that they change into nothing but a house of worms.. my school pal ramesh & I have discussed for hours on how tree bark develops worms...)

Funeral service for butterflies:

I had a kind of dramatic love towards butterflies. Whenever I saw a dead butterfly on road, I would bury it near my house & many times i have sincerely prayed to god that he need to take care of its soul. Many times I would end up shedding tears.

(The highly contradicting fact is that, when my school pal who was close to me died, I thought it was just a part of life & not a matter to sob)

New world while i sleep:

At the beginning of every day I try to figure what I did while sleeping.

I mentored a theory that i escape from earth into some farther planet & live a different life while i sleep. I even framed proofs that dreams are just memories i carry from my life there in that alien planet.

Ice cream Mountains:

Once I have thought that the huge snowy icy mountains shown in the television are just heap of ice cream. I also believed that the push-cart ice cream vendor gets the ice cream stuffs from those mountains.

The macho man:

As the MTC bus vibrates owing to the engine idling, I would start pushing the front seat with both my hands.. Blimey!!! the bus would start moving.

Scoring Line in cricket:

Have you ever come across a term ‘One Run line’ in cricket field? Most of you wouldn’t have. For many years i thought the fielding restriction line as ‘one run line’. If the ball crosses the line, you score a run. Batsmen just run to change strike. That was my perception then...

Rubber manufacture:

Pour the rice porridge (the water in which you cook rice.. hmmm tamizhla ‘kanchi thanni’) into pen caps, and leave it for a day or two. You’ll have rubber in them. I did this experiment several times, backed by several of my school friends. Every time we would conclude that we have missed a special ingredient which is kept secret by companies like ‘Nataraj’ & ’Camlin’. We tried washing powder, egg, tooth paste, etc as the special ingredient, but in vain.

Appropriate place for a quote-

“ I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work" - Thomas A. Edison.

:-)

The inventor:

In my school chemistry lab, i used to pour whatever chemicals i have access to into a test tube hoping that i will end up in finding something accidentally..

Its needless to say that it has never happened.

The misconceptions / foolish beliefs i had after my school days are left out intentionally.

i wonder why people want to blog.. from the many blogs i have seen in the blogosphere, it seems to be either a dumping place for sorrows and woes or it is a place where people put their rather unconventional thoughts about seemingly unimportant things and important things alike in a fashion reflecting their true self.. some blogs do have specific purpose like some social cause.. but most blogs are just a vanity fair! no no.. not urs though !:)

Good one.
I mentored a theory that i escape from earth into some farther planet & live a different life while i sleep
And you say im the one who doctor theories! x-(
I hope you would post the misconception of your post-school days too. Why bother? When you say something is a misconception, you're indirectly distancing yourself from it! :D

"unconventional thoughts about seemingly unimportant things"

- perception matters dude. You cant say anything which is universally 'Conventional' Or 'important'.

"some blogs do have specific purpose like some social cause"

- Social cause!!! we have spoken about it for at least 2000 years till date. Blogging on them would also create no significant change (my perception.. prove me wrong with proofs from history).

In total "I PERFORM IDEAS, BLOG FOR ENTERTAINMENT". Both are inevitable in society :-)

@ parth

I dont mind posting them.. But then it would offend some general beliefs of many in the society. So better let us distance us from it :-)

what would discussing a social issue create any change it is intended to do so??
Blogging on a social cause can only show that "ya,im more concerned on society than you foolish mortals who brag about your lives on blogs"!
people who blog on social causes , cant they roll up their sleeves and get their butt on to work for that social cause, instead of wasting their time in typing in their blog??

And of course everyone has the right to use their blog in their own way, unless they dont abuse anybody!

Why should anything have a reason in the first place? :D
Blogging for no reason seems more fun than blogging for something!

We used to have 'two run lines' in gully cricket..;)

"As the MTC bus vibrates owing to the engine idling, I would start pushing the front seat with both my hands"
Ha ha you are now going to help push more buses.. From the factory to the roads!!

@all d ppl above:
Maybe you could post a blog about 'posting blogs' on your blogs..:o

Yeah.. the blog is something like a diary. you write without any intention about variety of things ranging from ordinary to odd which you come across in life.
